Ham Cheese Loaf

INGREDIENT

2 teaspoons Yeast
1 cup Lukewarm Water
1½ Tablespoon Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt
2 –2 ½ cups sifted Gold Medal All-Purpose Flour
1 pack Ham slices, diced (250 grams)
2/3 cup grated Cheddar Cheese

PROCEDURE

Dissolve yeast in water in a large mixing bowl. Stir in sugar, salt and 1 cup of flour. Beat until smooth.

Combine ham and grated cheese. Add into yeast mixture. Add enough flour to make dough easy to handle.

Turn dough onto floured board and knead until smooth and elastic, approximately 5 minutes. Form dough in a ball and place in a greased bowl. Cover with damp cloth and let rise for 1 hour to 1 ½ hours.

Punch down dough and transfer to lightly floured board. Work out gas by pressing with palm of hand, at the same time forming dough into rectangular shape. Roll loosely to form a loaf and place in lightly greased loaf pan. Cover with damp cloth and let rise again for 1 ½ hour to 2 hours. Bake in preheated oven 350°F for 50 minutes to 1 hour.
